Game Overview

Call of Duty: Black Ops II pushed the boundaries of what fans expected from the record-breaking franchise. Set in a near-future Cold War, the game explored how advanced technology and weaponry could reshape the face of warfare — blending high-stakes action with a new generation of storytelling.

My Contributions

After wrapping up PC and post-launch support for the first Black Ops, I jumped onto the Zombies team right at the start of ideation and prototyping for Black Ops II. This was an exciting opportunity to help design new systems and introduce PvP modes to the Zombies experience. My work included:

  • Gameplay scripting across multiple cooperative levels and sequences:
    • TranZit — A chaotic bus ride through a sprawling city overrun by the undead.
    • Die Rise (DLC 1) — A vertical survival challenge, leaping across collapsing skyscrapers with zombies at your heels.
    • Buried (DLC 3) — A hidden underground ghost town crawling with the undead.
    • Turned — An asymmetrical PvP mode where players take turns as humans and zombies in a fight for survival.
